I was given the opportunity to work on this music video through a dancer I met in my very first dance film -- she reached out about this opportunity to me and I accepted without hesitation. Everything was shot over one night in March of 2019, and the music video was officially released on April 14 this year.

After In/Motion 2017, I was approached by a film student attending Columbia College Chicago and was asked if I was interested in collaborating with her on a dance film about intersectional feminism. I readily agreed, and I am very glad I did. It was an amazing opportunity to connect with artists around Chicago, and really touched on the idea of "Chicago as an extended classroom." Working on this project also gave me the opportunity to reflect on the value of using dance as a platform for social justice advocacy.
From Ashley's Portfolio:
"Developed through a semester long study on hair and inspired by political events of protest, Intertwined is a short dance film created for Experimental Production II at Columbia College Chicago. It plays with experimental dance performance and non-conventional editing. It was edited on Adobe Premiere Pro and colored with Davinci Resolve. The final product was displayed as part of an installation for Columbia College’s annual urban arts festival, Manifest."
