"When Her World Stops Spinning" takes an introspective look into the life of Yasmin Thompson, the captain of the Newsome High School color guard and winterguard teams. How does she overcome what could be the biggest barrier in her high school career? What is the true meaning of teamwork?
Color Guard & Winterguard
Color Guard is a performing arts activity that can be found at many high schools, colleges, and universities. Through the combined elements of music, dance, and precision, color guard continues to be one of the highlights of a marching band season. During the fall season, Color Guard performs, spins, and tosses equipment such as rifles, sabers, and flags alongside the Marching Band. Winterguard, on the other hand, performs in competitions not only within the state, but nationally as well.

The Newsome High School Color Color Guard and Winterguard are the award winning guard teams of Newsome High School, located in Lithia, Florida. This nationally acclaimed team have won myriad awards throughout the nation, with an impressive A Class Rank. Follow the team on their website and Instagram to see where they are now. The team continues to grow and improve, climbing up the rankings of the WGI World Championships.
